operated in a pastor’s home. The pastor, Carlos Ruiz and his wife Yara started taking children into their home several years ago. They give the orphans a real home with a real family. There are usually 20 or so orphans living with Carlos, Yara and their 3 natural children. They live as brothers and sisters in a Christian home being home schooled in all regular studies as well as bible studies and music. They also study English and their native Spanish and tribal Mayan dialects. Carlos ministers to inmates in a local prison, pastors church services at the orphanage on Sundays and takes the children to visit and sing praises at local churches.
